The Mukatsuku Subwoofer...

It took some days to actually find the perfect spot for the subwoofer...
The position i tried at first finally didnt work well and i had to search a better one.
Low frequencies very much are influenced by the room and room modes and so, from the listening position the result can change dramaticaly depending on where the subwoofer is put in the room, it can go from Too Much melting bass to No Bass at all, finding the spot where be bass was Strong, thick and articulate was difficult, moving the sub of 5cm could change his response...
But i finally found the perfect place for him and it sound fantastic :) The low frequency effect are very rich and precise, they have really different Textures its not just a low frequency "boom" all the time, its really very impressively clear, and power full when the director wanted it to be (well that subwoofer amp is 700watts by the way :) ... iam impressed by that subwoofer...

One important detail i would like to add is that at first i tried to use the automatic analysis of my amp "MCAAC" to use some of the eq and phase correction and after many trial i just understood it was not enough accurate... (far from it actually). So at the end all my sound system have been adjusted manually... and now iam really happy :)

Rear Speakers Ready

I finished installation and isolation of rear speakers...

Bass Trap

I made some small bass trap for my room. My room in fact had already a surprisingly very good bass behavior... i think it might be because there is Tatami under the carpet :)
Still i made some small bass trap to make it even a bit better. I ordered those thick foams and put them together with accoustic foam glue (i had that left from when i made my recording studio, its a white glue that dont make foam melt), then i search for the good spot in the room. By the way finding perfect position for the subwoofer took some time...

Subwoofer Cable

As for Subwoofer cables i will use a Monster Cable MC 400 SW...
At first i wanted that cables but it was very expensive (around 12 000yen/ 100 euro) for just one cable even i knew it was one of the best subwoofer cable i could buy.
So i ordered a Audio Technica subwoofer cables because it seemed already good quality for the price (4000 yen) especially compared with the usual low quality cables that come free with subwoofer.
But finally 5 meter was to short and that audio technica cable do not exist in 8 meter so finally i had another good reason to take the Monster Cable subwoofer cable :).

From left to right: "free subwoofer cable", "audio technica subwoofer cable" and "Monster Cable subwoofer cable"...

As usual Monster Cable quality of connectors is great, interesting point the center part of the cinch connector is cut in two part to keep pressure in the connexion.
The cable itself is a Solid core cable which mean its only one thick piece of cable instead of many small one, that make sense because low Frequency travel around the cable not inside, also one very important reason to take that Monster Cable for me was that its "Shielded" the audio technica cable was not.
It help protect the integrity of the signal and protect it from electrical interferences...
So to summarize... The Monster Cable was more expensive but iam glad and happy i got it :).

Speakers Cables and Plugs

For speakers cables i bought 30 meters of Monster Cables THX certified, and Nakamichi Banana plugs.
It took some time to cut the cables and put the banana plugs properly but iam very happy with the finished cables :).
Those Monster Cables are really good, its 16 gauge and one good point is that even they are thick they are very very flexible.
The Nakamichi banana plugs are really great and Gold plated. They make a really secure connexion, all the connected part is glod plated and 2 Screw keep the cables inside.
I recommand both, the THX cables are not so much more expensive than standard cables and even if you dont care or understand why THX certification is a good point still they have some really good points for them, especially flexibility (usually 16 gauge are less flexibles really).
